New High Rise Breaks Ground in River Oaks
A new monumental high rise has officially broke ground inside the River Oaks Shopping Center. The 30-story apartment tower now named, The Driscoll will offer residents a life of leisure and luxury. The project is currently under construction on the north side of West Grey at Driscoll St (the previous site of Local Pour).
The Driscoll at River Oaks will feature over 300 luxury apartment units with panoramic views of the Houston Skyline. The draw of course it’s premier walk-able location inside the iconic River Oaks Shopping Center.
Like previous Hanover Company projects, the Eight-floor will be reserved for the high-rise amenities. Some amenities will include:
- Resort-style pool
- Business center
- State of the art fitness center
- Theater screening room
- A dog wash station and bike storage room will be on the ground floor
In addition, over 10,000 square feet of ground floor retail space is planned for the building.
The Senior Vice President for Weingarten Realty, said in a press release “The integration of a luxury residential tower is trans-formative for River Oaks Shopping Center and will further solidify it as a premier mixed-use project in Houston.” Hanover Company and Ziegler Cooper Architects are also partners in the development.
The Driscoll at River Oaks is estimated to be complete by 2021.

Reporter, Houston Business Journal A new high-rise downtown apartment building boasting close-up views of Minute Maid Park has officially opened, just in time for the start of the regular baseball season. Catalyst, a 359-unit, 28-story high-rise, marks its debut April 5 and is less than 30 percent occupied, according to leasing manager Brandy Vogel. The apartment complex sits on a city block bounded by Texas Avenue, Austin street, Prairie Street and La Branch Street. It’s the second Catalyst apartment project for Illinois-based multifamily developer Marquette Cos., the first is in Chicago. Catalyst features more than two dozen floor plans, ranging in size from a little above 600 square feet to close to 2,000 square feet. This gorgeous Residential High Rise just got even better!- Pinstripes was the first retail tenant announced, a dining and entertainment venue that will occupy 33,830 square feet when it opens in the Kirby Collection in June 2018. It will be the first Houston location for Pinstripes, which features bowling, bocce ball and other activities. The location also will have outdoor fire pits and a bistro serving Italian and American cuisine.

- Atelier Isabelle Rose – a high-end luxury hair salon, will occupy 3,855 square feet.
- Lukoil – U.S. affiliate of a Russian energy trading corporation and Moscow-based.

According to Ziegler Cooper, Architect, it will be a 28-story 361 unit apartment tower. It will be a full city block on the neartheast side of Houston’s Central Business District. It will include over 6800 sq. ft. of retail and restaurant space. The property will have both high rise and lowe rise units. It’s only a block from Houston’s light rail.
