Grand Opening River Oaks District

Schedule a Showing at Grey House River Oaks District Apartments The grand opening of River Oaks District will take place Thursday October 8th with about 20 to 25 stores opening. Oliver said each month there will be more retailers opening Beverly Hills has Rodeo Drive and New York City has Fifth Avenue. Luxury brands like Cartier, Hermes and Dior don those streets with larger-than-life flagship stores. Now that same atmosphere will be available in Houston at the River Oaks District, a mixed-use retail development just inside the loop off of Westheimer Road. Unlike its neighborhood mega-mall, The Galleria, the River Oaks District will be a very outdoor experience. “What we’re really doing is creating here what Houstonians enjoy when they travel – they travel to New York, they travel to London, they travel to Paris, they travel to Mexico City, they travel to Miami. Life goes on in the streets in all of these cities,” said Dene Oliver, the head of the development company behind the project. Oliver, who is CEO of OliverMcMillan, said it actually took a level of convincing to get certain retailers to agree to open multi-level flagship stores in the Bayou city. “Houston is a very important market in America, and some were very aware of that and some were not,” he told KPRC 2’s Dominique Sacshe. Oliver gave Sacshe a tour and preview of River Oaks District, rattling off some of the high-end stores that will be brand new additions to Houston. “Brunello Cucinelli, Etro, Keton, Cos, Canali, Harry Winston — the list goes on and on of people that are new to the Houston market,” he said.

OliverMcMillan and River Oaks District to Expand with Hotel and Office

River Oaks District Hotel Construction

River Oaks District to Expand with Hotel, Office

Houston Chronicle The developer of River Oaks District, Houston’s newest mecca of high-end shopping, is planning to expand its mixed-use project onto adjacent land with a hotel, office building, additional residential units and more shops. Public documents filed with Harris County show San Diego-based OliverMcMillan has entered into a ground-lease agreement for 3.4 acres at the northeast corner of Westheimer and Westcreek. The property includes buildings that house Le Peep, Sullivan’s, Exceptional Nails and Wesctreek Market & Deli. The developer briefly describes Phase II on its website as a 455,000-square-foot expansion with 190,000 square feet of office space, 150,000 square feet for a luxury hotel, 90,000 square feet of residential space and 25,000 square feet of retail. Renderings show two high-rise buildings, the taller of which has a rooftop pool. Several retailers in the initial phase of River Oaks District are expected to open starting Oct. 1. The development will include such high-fashion brands as Hermès, Cartier, Dior and Dolce & Gabbana, along with 279 apartments and a three-story office building. An eight-screen cinema called iPic is scheduled for an Oct. 30 opening. Since the price of oil began falling last summer, OliverMcMillan officials have remained confident about their project and Houston’s ability to weather the energy slump. “Of all the retailers we’ve worked with, none of them have asked about oil fluctuations,” Jeff Zeigler, senior managing director of retail services for OliverMcMillan, said this summer during a construction tour of the 14-acre development. John Breeding, president of the Uptown Houston District, said the Houston economy continues to be strong, even with lower oil prices. He attributes that to the economy’s diversity. “We’re seeing very aggressive land purchases,” he said about the Galleria area. Developers already are building some $2.5 billion worth of commercial and residential real estate in Uptown. River Oaks District, at 4444 Westheimer, is between Highland Village and the Galleria, which is going through its own luxury expansion. Breeding said the additional retail competition will create a “bigger pie” of shoppers. “It reinforces this market area as the center of retail for the Houston region,” he said. The 650,000-square-foot project is based on a street grid system where visitors are meant to stroll under storefront canopies along tree-lined streets. Through a spokeswoman, the developer declined to provide additional information on the expansion, including the timing of the new project. The existing restaurants and businesses have leases on their sites that run through the end of September 2017, a document shows. The lease agreement is with Restrop, Urquhart Restrop and McKissack Restrop. Link to the original article here. – See more at: Oliver McMillan Buzz]]>

The brand new River Oaks District will be unveiled very soon! Oliver McMillan is developing the most affluent shopping and dining experience in the history of this city and its called the River Oaks District. River Oaks District (ROD) is comprised of over 65 luxury/best in class retail shopping along with 8-10 restaurants, Ipic Theaters and an Equinox Gym as well as 279 modern luxury apartments on 14 acres of land, creating a true walkable space for Houstonians and visitors. Here are some of the wonderful things that Houston has to look forward to in the brand new River Oaks District!

Parking for Retail – shoppers can self park for free or valet for around $8 – $10 per vehicle. Valet will pick you up anywhere. There will be an app for the valet. They will pick you up at any station. Shoppers who use valet can download a smartphone application to get their car from anywhere inside the River Oaks District complex. A patron could dine at a gourmet restaurant along Westheimer, then walk through the shops and hail their car from the other end of the complex when they’re finished.

Elevators and escalators. The parking garage features a spiral ramp instead of the typical sloped ramps to make it easier for female shoppers wearing heels to walk to their car. It also will feature overhead lights that indicate free parking spots to drivers.

River Oaks District — located at 4444 Westheimer Road — will offer a mix of valet and free self-parking. There will be a 1,200-spot parking garage as well as four valet parking stations spread throughout the 14-acre development.
